Disney On A Budget

Hello Friends! First of all, if you're even reading this, thank you. Over the years I've received many questions about our Disney trips.... with the biggest question being, how do we afford it? The obvious answer is saving up for it BUT we love finding the best deals and I'm here to show you how we do it, step by step.

Since my first visit, we have used UnderCoverTourist for booking our tickets. Here is there website https://www.undercovertourist.com/. We typically buy 5 day park hopper passes and with that you get a free day. We also do Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and with those special tickets you have to book directly through Walt Disney World. Last year we spend $950 total for the 2 of us and luckily our kids are small enough to get in for free.

For our rental car, I booked using Hotwire for a 4 Door Standard SUV. When filling out the booking information, I stated I wanted a car rental in the airport. Unfortunately, that didn't happen and we had to take a shuttle to the car rental place, ACE, it was free which was nice but I would've preferred to have not used a shuttle. We paid $405 (taxes included) for 10 days. We didn't purchase the additional insurance because I called our personal car insurance company beforehand and they stated that we would be covered through our policy. When speaking to ACE about this, they asked for my policy number and my insurance information. Incase you don't, just make sure you carry those items with you.

Every time we have gone to Disney, we have stayed in an Airbnb. This last year we stayed at Caribe Cove which we have stayed at every year except one year a few years back. It's a gated community that is about 10-15 minutes from the park. It's so nice to be close enough to the parks so that we can come "home" to nap and relax before getting ready to go back out. About 5 minutes from Caribe Cove are lots of restaurants and grocery stores. Caribe Cove is about 30 minutes from MCO International Airport. We spent $780 for our 3 bedroom, 2 full bath condo that came with a washer and dryer, a fully stocked kitchen, towels, and tv's in every room which is a huge plus for us! The clubhouse has a pool, hot tub, steam room, gym, and lots of games. We love it so much that we are even thinking of buying a condo there! Maybe one day...

Lastly, our plane tickets. For some reason, in October which is when we always go to Disney, JetBlue has a great deal on tickets. It's $98.20 (with tax) per person one way. So this year we had to pay for Jackson on the way back since he turned 2 on this trip. So total we paid $491 plus $25 each way for our 1 checked bag. Parker and I both had a carry on bag, plus our back packs, and my camera bag. We also checked our carseats but just check our stroller at the gate.

So, to add it all up we have spent $2,676. This last year, I think we spent around $1,500 for spending money. That included food, groceries, gas, souvenirs, and anything else that would fit in out budget. Parker’s company gives their employees Amazon gift cards for doing well and we spent about $300 of that to purchase gift cards to local restaurants. So for $4,200 we have the trip of our dreams every year. Thank you for reading!
